The Pre-Budget Report is expected to see Value Added Tax cut from 17.5% to 15% as part of a £15 to £20 billion "fiscal stimulus" to encourage spending and spur economic growth. The Chancellor is also said to be unveiling the plan for a 45% top rate on people earning at least £150,000 a year. Will a 2.5% VAT cut make any difference to how much you spend this Xmas?
Dont have anything to spend, husband laid off 4 weeks ago and we dont earn enough to have any savings. Merry xmas to all.
i'm going big to gram a heroin and a couple of hookers as for xmas naw

a VAT cut for christmas is total horse raddish, the VAT cut is not to encourage christmas time spending its too encourage spending in general... if the countrys population stopped buying goods at the same time the uks economy wud die in less than 24hrs... it has nothing to do with christmas itself. As for how much i would spend at christmas depends on two factors 1)what my 4children ask for 2) whether i can realistically get it and pay for (whether that is cash, charge or on the tick) the reason for a VAT cut is a direct result of the major mess up caused by the very same people enforcing the VAT cut. its they policies that has lead to this being needed. and lets sit back and ignore the headlines for a while, if the goverment can give us this VAT cut now when they need to mop up after they mess up, why cant prices stay as low as there are now ? and further more, just how low can they actually go ? petrol is now less than 1pound a litre hasnt been like that for years. and the reasons given by the powers that be is that... "finding new pockets of oil requires large amounts of cash and therefore oil prices must remain high" is this is the case then what are the oil companies doing now the cut is in place ? taking a year off ? then the goverment signed treatys with the EU to take onboard an ex-amount of immgrants, which in general cost more to the taxpayer than they return, its already been proven by the goverment the average time spent by these ppl in the uk is 3yrs, granted most come here for work, but the fact remains they start off by using taxpayers cash (for example) they get set up with new homes (purpose built) then set up business using taxpayers cash (huge figure) they get cars as my jobcentre says its cheaper to do so than to provide them with an interputor... the list is endless... then instead of banking they cash earned into the uk society its sent back to they homeland (=deadcash) then they fly back home and relax.... and whilst to be honest i feel like talking all day... im sure by now everyone is starting to get my point of view, so i leave you all with one last thought... can you afford to pay for everything you kids need ? because they going to get less and less help as time goes by, so save your cash at christmas... you and them are going to need it... regardless of which goverment is in power (they get60k a yr salary) do you think they care about you ? they need your vote to keep they pay cheque and thats the simple truth.....
