Are the supermarkets ripping us off?

Inflation is now dropping at its fastest rate for 16 years thanks to falling fuel prices. But despite this the cost of a typical shopping basket leapt to 21.3 per cent in November – adding more than £1,100 a year to family grocery bills. Are the supermarkets ripping us off by not passing on price reductions?

It is only the RATE of inflation that has slowed. Prices are still going up, but slower. If we think we have more money to spend as a result, we are fooling ourselves. The way in which this slow down is being presented is a rip off.

It is time the government stepped in and stopped these greedy companies,But alas yet again it was Thatcher who gave them the monopolies to charge whatever they want,by privatisation,Gas Electric And water companies should not have been sold into private investment, they are guaranteed money makers,And all the profits are going into private hands and making some cats verry fat indeed,Jobs for the boys hey!
