What's a reasonable wage in the UK?

The minimum wage for over 22s in the UK is £5.35 an hour. Do you think this is reasonable? What do you think is a good wage to earn and how hard would you be prepared to work for it? Should 18-21 year olds receive the same minimum wage as over 22s? Why, in the 21st century, do some women still earn less than men for doing the same job?

we should all be paid min 10phour. anything else is exploitative. If jobs are going to go abroad they will go anyway..otherwise we are all on a sliding scale to nowhere..immigration is a problem too we really dont need it..if the people decided not big business they would have to adjust accordingly.,we dont need to compete against anyone its a big con..we should all be paid more..the gov would get more tax and we would just pay a bit more for goods etc..so what? Stupid jobs make u jump through hoops to get them its ridiculous we should go back to the old days when it was much easier...50's 60's. we must take back the power from gov and business

You can not get below the min wage in this country it is illegal anyone who does by the way should take legal action. There's law against getting under the min. wage. So there is no below average the average IS min. wage and that is all.

Let's start discussing wages when prices are on the rise for products, food and bills. ! Oh dear, Yes 18-21 should so they can give mor money to there parents that could still be supporting them. It's hard for the young to even get there own house and if they did live in there own property at 18 shouldn't they have the same wage as any adult? Especially if they drive aswell? How can you have a cra and pay bills on a short wage int his current price climate for everything? As far as I know 18 means your an adult legally in this country why not get an adult wage? Even if it's to help out mum and dad with bills when there under there roof?

the first thing we should start doing is stop talking averages and percentages because most people do not get average wages, most people get below average wages, not fair is it. TALK HARD CASH......
