The minimum wage for over 22s in the UK is £5.35 an hour. Do you think this is reasonable? What do you think is a good wage to earn and how hard would you be prepared to work for it? Should 18-21 year olds receive the same minimum wage as over 22s? Why, in the 21st century, do some women still earn less than men for doing the same job?
£10-20 per hour is a reasonable wage I think. By the time most employees outgoings are sorted out at the end of the month eg rent, and general living expenses, what have they got left? Not a lot for most employees. Where is the work incentive then on a low wage? There isn't one. Most people spend most of their lifetimes working for most of the day. Holidays are sparse. So unless they are earning quite a lot of money, they are pretty hard up. When there is a family to support it's even harder despite working families tax credits. Employees need to feel that working helps a person to achieve a better life for them and their families. A decent living standard, regular holidays, security for life. For most families/employees this is too difficult to achieve.
£1.01 hahahahahahahaaha saddo and scrounger middle lowers, hahaha.
A grand a week is needed to have a decent life at this time.
I read somewhere on vm. that £20 per hour is the uk's av. wage. a mate of mine is a joiner and was getting £12 perhour working for a company, now he's self employed and charging £27 perhour. just goes to show how much your employer is making off their employees.
Fair pay for all i say.
times are hard my pay is 36k a year and i struggled to put beer on the table
If you're a pensioner it's about the same as one days work at the same rate as the minimum wage. This can't be considerd reasonable
or fair, particularly for those who saved a little in the hope of an odd day out or even a meal out.But those pleasures are today only affordable
to those on Civil Service,or Bank/Insurance company pensions. The
