The minimum wage for over 22s in the UK is £5.35 an hour. Do you think this is reasonable? What do you think is a good wage to earn and how hard would you be prepared to work for it? Should 18-21 year olds receive the same minimum wage as over 22s? Why, in the 21st century, do some women still earn less than men for doing the same job?
£2.50 per hour seems fair to me?
Mike from uk
You never said what you earn. are you one of the £300 a week boys that has no decent hobies and is happy to just go to the pub and a game of football at weekend. They do have most of you under the thumb with the way they pump football, try doing a decent hobie,
Also the attitude you have is the same as most in Britain, don't give a sh.t about any one else; as long as you can see people that are worse of than you then you are happy. Well some people are at the bottom of the lot and are in no position to complain. the covment like you to think that we have three classes in this country the uper class the middle class and the lower class. but we don't we have it so that every one, like you likeme, can see someone that is worse off than them so they never complain.
Well that said; I too, just like you live a great life and I don't give a sh.. the same as you, about any one else. I earn a penney more than I can spend, well tell the truth a bit more that a penny. and it all sits in the bank quit nicly.
SHOWS you what I said was right.
A decent wage in this country? well, what ever you can get. Fight for more or say where you are.
If you can live on what you earn fine, I call that reasonable.
I personally do no care if everyone on the planet earns 1 million an hour
as I am happy earning enough to enjoy what I call, 'A good quality of life'.
Dear Tricia, are you are carer? Just enquiring. I care for my grandson who has Downs syndrome, he is five years old. I receive benefits for him such as DLA and income support. We carers deserve a decent income because we have to care for someone for 24 hours a day which is very difficult most of the time. I feel that we are not regarded as carers to receive an income. Our job is very difficult and involves a vast amount of self-sacrifice. We do receive benefits but we have probably one of the hardest jobs in the world.
Will all those carers who provide 24/7 care be also included in a decent income?
