The minimum wage for over 22s in the UK is £5.35 an hour. Do you think this is reasonable? What do you think is a good wage to earn and how hard would you be prepared to work for it? Should 18-21 year olds receive the same minimum wage as over 22s? Why, in the 21st century, do some women still earn less than men for doing the same job?
I think everyone should get at least £20,000 per year for doing a 35 hour week and 25 days holiday and a pension scheme simple not much to ask for is it really?
I think everyone should be paid the same as me
To be able to live comfortably I would have to be bringing home at an absolute minimum of about £350 per week. With energy costs nearly double what they were six months ago, the constant rise of inflation and public transport refusing to pay out change (then not letting you on when you're 1p short) the minimum wage is just a joke.
I think £6.50 is enough for a minimum wage, It's a starting point if you want more money then you have to work your way up to it, do training and work hard, it is possible. Why should unskilled people be paid almost the same as skilled people where is the incentive to better yourself then.
if someone is making the effort to go out to work, it dosent matter what they are doing, the minimum wage should be a lot more than it is now!!!! a lot of people with jobs like cleaners, shop workers most of them work a dame sight harder than highly paid jobs!!!
