Reckon you could do a better job than Alistair Darling? How would you spend taxpayers’ cash if you were head of the Treasury? Let your imagination run riot.
- Is the Chancellor doing a good job?
get rid of top heavy beaurocracy
mps are supposed to be there for the people not to lone their owm pockets cap their allowances and give them a basic wage
get rid off top heavy management with the nhs to many chiefs not enough indians
star listening to people in the world labour policies have put us all through sheer greed
to many quangoes get rid of all the jobs worthy people who are so far up their own aaaaaaaaaaaa to see the woods for the trees
put a cap on greedy super markets charging ridicilous prices for everything and then makes it sound as if they are doing us a big favour with their crap offers which are inflated before being reduced
orofits are out of control
I could go on and on
if people vote this lot in again we deserve all that we get
every time labour is in goverment we end up with a resetion seen it all before
strikes everywhere cant understand why people cant see this
enough mony is being spent on the health service education etc it is the way it is spent is the problem
no one answearable at the end of the day
now that i have thoroughly depressed myself
everything is a shambles
Its not a case of spending money, its a case of sorting everything out so that the money is being used where it is needed and not wasted on things that are unwarrented, ie, spend money on staffing and equipment instead of building a new hospital.
Law and order, build new prisions for a start, just four walls, bed, toilet and no luxuries, sod human rights groups.
Police the streets with proper officers, not these plastic cops that can't do anything, make sure the courts deal with offenders with heavy punishments instead of these softly softly ASBO's and all the other weak C**P they dish out.
Well that will do for starters.
The first thing I would do would be to scrap free NHS for anyone who has not paid into it. You would have to prove that you had paid something into the system before you even set foot in a Drs surgery. This would ease the burden on the NHS and make the uk a little less attractive to spongers from afar, also those who have paid would not have to wait weeks or months for the treatment they have already paid for.
Pauline, I like a lot of what you say. But your " Basic rates for basic servces" idea would hit the less well off harder than the wealthy. Much better to reform the tax so it bears more relation to peoples ability to pay. I agree with bringing back a manufacturing based economy, but it wouldn't be easy now that so much has been lost.
re-nationalise utility companies. non profit making = we can afford electric/gas/water
