Are you worried about the property market?

Are you worried about the property market?

The market is set for a downturn, are you worried about your property value? Are you a first-time buyer struggling to get on the property ladder? Who do you think is to blame for the high cost of housing in the UK? What do you think will happen to the market during 2008?

As an Estate agent I am Really surprised at the need people have to follow the press and what everybody else seems to be doing.
Yes, The current market is falling and there are bargains everywhere! So why on earth would people not want to buy a property now.
This time last year people were falling over each other to buy a property at any price, ofter well above market value. (knowing the market would stop/fall at sometime)
But it seems, rather than buying while prices have dropped and you can still negotiate quiet heavily, The public would rather wait for it to rise again so they feel better knowing everybody else is buying so they better, in a competitive. Hence paying maybe 10% more than the same property can be secured at today.
    It really makes little sense

Tony Bliar and Gordon Brown are again to blame for the housing crisis. When house prices were increasing they should of increased interest rates, like the tories did. BUT no Bliar just wanted to enjoy his time and not really be bothered about the welfare the people or this country.

no and im glad i have,nt got a mortgage too as it is just expense after expense.
im also glad that i dont owe my own house as that too is just expense after expense.
you can have as much property as you want but you still cannot take it to the grave with you and if you hand it down to your children then thats just putting a silver spoon in there mouth and when things get tough for them they will never have a clue on how to deal with things.
