Are we heading for a recession?

As food and fuel prices rise and the standard of living falls, economists are warning that we could face the toughest economic climate since the 1970s. Are you concerned that we’ll all be on the breadline before long?

I don't think we're heading for a large-scale recession, but the Media are trying their damnest to hype it up into one. If they had something big & interesting to report on, maybe the 'problem' would quietly dissolve away and we could get on with worrying about what shirt to wear today or what colour to paint the hallway.
Am I the only one that thinks the Media should be more accountable for their hype and lies?

im really worried about the costs of everything going up me and my husband work all week and we cant afford to buy our children fresh fruit and veg and new clothes now either.im really worried and its not fair because we work all year and cant even afford to take r children on holiday.i know a women who pretends to be a single mum and her boyfriend has is own 3 bedroomed council house paid for by taxpayers he doesnt even sleep there he pretends to so they get loads of money off the government then they get free milk veg and fruit every week and go on holiday evry year.

New Deal, New Start, New Recession. New Labour's economic policies never created New Jobs. The City of London subsidises Little Old England to the tune of billions each year, without the capital’s hand out, England would boast some of the poorest people in Europe. Here in the west midlands industry is vanishing faster than mortgages, great news though Tesco’s building new stores in Walsall and Aldridge. Motels and hotels are spring up alongside the M6. £5.50 per hour whoa, even £6.00 an hour if you work shifts. If you want to see where the old manufacturing based economy went, along with a decent wage, make your way to Walsall’s new art gallery, there are pictures of it hanging on the gallery walls. Wake up Brown and Cameron, real economies are based on manufacture, not stuck on your arse glued to a VDA unit in the middle of some financial quarter. Whatever skills you may possess and economy based purely on one quarter making a killing on the stock market, wil make them worthles, a recipe for disaster.
