incidentally, where do you get your stats from dave? I doubt very much if the uk average is anywhere near 35K - more like 28-30K. p.a. at best. as for being 10K p.a. better off than the germans, where did that come from? please, PLEASE don't say wikipedia, for christs's sake ...
dave corby, we were over taken by the chinese in november 2006, we are now 5th - or 6th largest economy. no, it doesn't make me proud, or disappointed. i just don't gve a toss. for what it's worth, the chinese now have the germans in their sights for 3rd place (bronze medal), it's just a matter of time. then, the japanese, then the americans. that, too, is more or less inevitable, give or take a general nuclear exchange or two.
Oh and just one more thing that should make you proud to be british and glad you live her .We have just 1 percent of the worlds population but we have the forth largest economy in the world hows that for punching above your weight.
The trouble with people is that the dont realise when they are well off .Because we have had over 15 years of steady growth and no recessions they start to panic at the first sign of choppy waters .Look at it this way the minimum wage in america is $1.47 per hr and people have to live on that .Bush is such a hopeless president hes put america into a recession twice only this time hes starting to drag us down as well.Just pray for Obama he might just save us.
just a piece of imformation for your miserable readers who are convinced we live in the worst country in europe .todays papers quote britain as the highest paid european nation by a country mile in fact at £35000 pa average we are £10000 pa better paid than the germans .we live in a great country filled with moaners 'stop talking us into a recession
