Are we heading for a recession?

Are we heading for a recession?

As food and fuel prices rise and the standard of living falls, economists are warning that we could face the toughest economic climate since the 1970s. Are you concerned that we’ll all be on the breadline before long?

as for your risible waffle about the average wage in the uk, i'd avoid a right-wing tabloid like the daily wail if i were you, and try something truly reputable like the institute for fiscal studies, or some peer-reviewed financial journal. who gives a toss about your home in america, btw, (if that's true) or, indeed whether it's cheap as chips (is that the british, or american 'chip',??) over there or not? that's hardly the subject matter here, is it? christ save us from armchair economists who randomly pluck figures out of the air!

dave, corby, you must have last checked just under 2 years ago. i research political economy for a living. trust me, we are no longer the fourth (that's how it's actually spelt) largest economy, by measuring either gross national product (gnp, the most often cited because it includes invisible earnings including banking and insurance gained abroad) or gross domestic product (gdp), and have not been for quite some time.
