Are energy companies ripping us off?

The big six energy companies paid out 19% more to their shareholders last year, despite prices rises across the board. As winter approaches, are the energy companies leaving their customers out in the cold?

Miner Joe. I know you are not serious but is shows that a lot of people think that you get help with all payments if you are on benefits. You dont, use gas and electric you pay for it.

    TO MINER JOE,
I think what you're doing is disgusting, and if this is true then I can't beileve that none of your neighbours has reported you to the police. I hope you're not suggesting that I should do something like that. Apart from anything else it's no use if you can only get electricity at nights. My life is bad enough as it is without being stuck in all day with no electric. I wouldn't fancy having to stay up all night either. Also, what you're saying about people on DSS getting everything for free is just not true. I should know because I am on Invalidity myself and I get no help with my bills and my electric costs me £65 per month and that's just for a small flat. That's because my flat is all electric and I've got storage heaters which are no good because they only seem to warm up at night after I've gone to bed.

    Read it Billy...
Vaz was in trouble a few years back in Leicester for sleaze.....
He will probably get the Home Secs job at the next Labour shuffle.....
    They are ALL at it.....
Pigs at the trough..... How many local labour councillors are claiming expenses for attending meetings that start and end at the same time - even district auditors are on the payroll as they have never questioned the claim sheets.... Maybe they stood in the corridor and held both committee dors open....

Labour MP Keith Vaz faces sleaze inquiry over his outrageous bid to sway judge on behalf of crooked lawyer friend

A senior Labour MP is facing demands for a sleaze inquiry after intervening in a court case on behalf of a party donor.
Keith Vaz, chairman of the influential home affairs select committee, urged the High Court to delay proceedings involving a friend from whom he and his family had received lavish hospitality.
We can reveal that the friend - controversial lawyer Shahrokh Mireskandari - was on the brink of losing a long-running legal costs battle with an airline when Mr Vaz intervened.

Keith Vaz urged a judge to delay proceedings against his friend who was on the brink of losing a legal battle worth £400,000
The stakes were high as the lawyer is desperately challenging a court order to pay £400,000 in costs to the liquidator of the airline.
He is now facing a bankruptcy action after losing his latest appeal.
At a critical point in the case, 51-year-old Mr Vaz wrote to the High Court asking the presiding judge to adjourn proceedings pending the outcome of complaints by Mireskandari about how the case had been previously handled, involving hotly contested allegations of racism and bias.
Legal sources said the judge was furious at what he perceived to be 'political interference'.
As head of the home affairs committee, the MP for Leicester East has a key role in law-and-order issues.
Iranian-born Mireskandari, 47, is the lawyer at the centre of the Scotland Yard race row involving Britain's top Asian policeman, Assistant Commissioner Tarique Ghaffur, who has launched a £1.2million racial discrimination claim against Met chief Sir Ian Blair.
Last week, we revealed that Mireskandari is a convicted fraudster with suspect legal qualifications. He is a close friend of Met Commander Ali Dizaei, president of the National Black Police Association, who was suspended on Thursday after the Mail revealed disturbing links between the pair.
Lib Dem deputy leader Vince Cable, who has campaigned on behalf of a constituent ripped off by Mireskandari, said: 'I am absolutely flabbergasted...........................................READ MORE

A good tip to save on leccy bills is to bung a lectrician a bob or two and get him hook up to a nearby DSS scrounger, or a local slapper with half dozen fatherless kids as they have full an plenty - still have money for beer and fags, and the occasional drug to stop them feeling the cold....
The taxpayer will be allowed to go under and carry the pain - as long as the bone idle put their X against Labour, thats the name of the game.....
