I have been an entrepreneur of sorts for the last 6 years. It has been great fun and an amazing learning curve. I had two companies and have traveled the world with them. I had a great offer to sell them, so I did. With the money I bought some property and after getting them looking nice for living in, out of my own sweat and money I thought maybe time to go back to employment, I was really looking forward to it. I had allot of work experience from my past in major international companies, mainly sales and management and I was good at it as well, that's where the money came from to start my companies. Here is the killer, can I get a job now, NO!. I have applied from white van man jobs to managing director of top companies and I get the same answer back, your experiences dose not fit our requirements, or you are over qualified. It is strange that the UK is facing a massive skill shortage and I am out there offering years of international experience in sales, management, E-commence and FMCG and I can not even get a job anymore. It's sad. So maybe the lesson here is when you go into an entrepreneurial phase make sure you have a set exit strategy. I was a success, well not major but enough and I can not get a job, I wonder how hard it is trying to get a job when on your CV it says, my companies where a botch up. Good luck to you all.
