Alistair Darling had pretty big boots to fill when he took over the Treasury from Gordon Brown, and he’s had a tough economic climate to deal with ever since. But do you think he’s done a good enough job in the circumstances? Write your report card for the Chancellor.
- Could you do a better job?
Hi Alistair,
Hope you enjoyed the Xmas and NY.
I am still bothered by the Credit Card Interest rates which are higher than Income Tax and are charged each year.
It5 has been essential to my living with the antipathy to higher education as MA, MBA. PhD. The academic guild is stll class war at the state achievements since the 1944 act.
Getting the credit with educational objectives has helped a lot but this recent murder policy of doubling interestrates has meant the use back criterion has gone and all the value as a writer and theoretical scientist has been taken away.
You have made mortgages easier but still the interest s/b refunded as in the 1980 era for dss , Migs and pension credit as the State minimum pension is all I get for nearly 40 yrs of voluntary higher education academic work in the senior university. I have played my part and pulled my weight but all is a slap-down by the powers that be.
I hope this is usefull to you and look for our people's steady improvement with more on solid value improvement and less on exploitation cash gambling.
All the best for 2009!
He's doing a good job in the circumstances and probably much better than the Bullingdon Club lot could attempt!
He is doing as good a job as the prime minister
Does the pope ware a funny hat ?
