Would you miss the 1p?

Britain's shoppers could soon be waving goodbye to the 99p bargain as a change in our spending habits heralds the death of the one penny coin. Stores have finally given up trying to convince customers that items are cheaper by ending prices with a 99p.

What do you think? Would you miss the 1p?

I collect pences. They make me buy another pint of Carling. I like Carling. Its lovely. My tastebuds are ruined from years upon years of licking the chewing gum from the ground outside the jobcentre. Im a right tramp me. Honest, I'd do anything for money or Carling.

When something costs say 96p, does anyone give over a 5p and a penny to make the 6? Nope. You give a pound coin. The change of 4p then goes in your pocket and when you get home, it goes in your savings jar or whatever. I see no reason for the penny. Its as much use as that darn 18p coin...

what can you get for 1 pence or 2 pence in modern day britain so if they round things up to 5 p and to the nearest pound it would save the ammount of time and effert put in to sowing up trouser pockets due to the amount of change in them that you dont get rid of cos you either give 5 10 20 or the pound when paying cash . o and it would speed things up at tills when people decide to pay for items in 1&2 pence could no longer do that
