UK employees work longer hours than the rest of Europe and get less bank holidays. Do we place too much importance in our careers in this country and all end up stressed as a result? Do you feel pressured to work too hard? Share your thoughts.
If somebody didn't like the amount of work hours they are doing, then they wouldn't do them...
Besides, some people need to work longer hours for the money, it is up to the employee to decide!

Why should people with children be the only ones entitled to a life outside of work?
The rest of us have responsibilities, freinds and interests of our own and we too should be able to earn a reasonable living without working ridiculously long hours.
it depends wether you have children or if ur single with no children. these two examples would have completely different needs say if you children and a wife/husband you want to spend as much time with them as you can but of corse you cant if your working stupid extreme hours. however if your single with no children then its not too much of a problem , of corse noone like to work longer hours but longer hours more money and i think that would only be true to workers that are single and with no children
Working to many hours leaves no time for our children , leaving a detrimental cascade in our society, which is manifesting itself in drug abbuse and binge drinking. stress is increasing all the time causing an abbundance of problems. Some people say the French are bone idle I disagree they are the clever ones not us?.
I feel that as a family support worker for Social Services we work long hours.
The caring field ie nurses etc always has a raw deal. i would like to see our hours refelect the money we earn. As unqualified Social Worker i am very experinced and do the work pof Social Workers. I do feel that we should be working a 30 hour a week. reports, attending meetings, practical work etc does not we are bullied to do in the work place.
