What perks do you get through your job?

Some jobs are just a job, but others bring all kinds of perks to make the daily grind more bearable. Do you happen to get any welcome bonuses because of your job? What's the best thing you've blagged? Or are you unlucky enough not to get any such benefits?.

Perks of the job are OK if they are offered as a warm gesture for a job well done. Some bosses however will see them as voluntary gestures and if the workforce are in a dispute with them for a justified reason, then they threaten the Union with withdrawal of those perks. W**k**s is the word I'd use for those type of bosses.

I've started a simple home based business which allows me to spend time with my children, work when I want and receive perks from the company, e.g. carplan, profit share, holidays, royalty style income. The list is endless. It's up to me what I wnat from my business, and that's for only working part-time!

I work for a leading company in a call center I get 5 weeks paid holiday but have to book bank holidays off. If Im lucky enough I will get 1 a year off. We have to cover every day except xmas day and very rarely allowed xmas eve or new years eve off. We do get double time plus days pay for worked bank holidays. working after midnight does bring a 31% pay increment on all hours worked so long as you work after midnight some of your shift. We get discount shopping ,subsidised restaurant and half price mobile phone line rental. We get a half yearly bonus for attendance which doesnt even equal 1 weeks pay. We get 3 weeks full pay sickleave. All this for answering 150+ in a five and half hour shift and trying to have a call time of 90 seconds
Good and bad perks in all jobs but at least I have a job and my wage for 22 hours is the same as my partners 40 a week minimum wage without perks job
