Should city bonuses be capped?

A new survey reveals that three out of four people think bonuses paid to high-flying financial workers are excessive and should be curbed. It was reported that more than 4,000 City workers got bonuses of more than one million pounds. Do you agree with the Government minister who said such payments were "obscene", or do you think it's quite fair that high-achievers should have their efforts handsomely rewarded?

As a totally dis-satisfied customer of Virgin Media, I have a far more impoirtant and relevant question. I have now lost count of the outstanding unresolved issues I have with with Virgin Media. My Virgin Media TV service is still faulty and has been since Christmas 2007 - even though they are happy to buill us for channels we don't receive and never have. Virgin Media have completely screwed-up my internet service (again), and Virgin Media have already lost all our email connections on our brand new account . Virgin Media customer services are inconsistent with advice and I have wasted hours, neigh days, trying to get sommething that resembles a satisfactory service, all no avail.
I am still awaiting promised call backs that never arrive and Virgin Media have now sent me several contracts that are all incorrect. However, if I refuse to make payment until one of my crippled services is fixed, I get disconnected with the promise that it will get attended to when I pay.
I have found the engineers that have come to my home have all operated in a most unprofessional manner - dare I say cowboys, and they have removed equipment that they had no right to. They have supplied remote controls that don't match or operate the equipment installed though!
So, my question is, how come they are always on the ball posting these stupid discussion items that seem to be designed purely to create controversy, when the there is a real controversial subject on their doorstep, i.e. Why is the service provided by Virgin Media, continually so poor?
Your input would be appreciated Mr Branson...

I agree that the money these men (as most of them are men) is a bit too high!!!! But remember that they are held responsible when something goes wrong and are forced out almost immediately even when they are not aware of the problem before it is found out. Then most of them find it hard to get another top job so the high pay compensates them for being scraficial lambs....... Still I wis I made that much!!!

a days pay for an honest days work - except for the bonus kings -
a fat bonus makes an ordinary worker feel inept angry and bloody mad.
Why should they get the cream at the expence of the workers. If a firm has to give bonuse it should be shared equally among all its workers.

No one, however skilful, is worth the kind of money these people get.
worse than that, they get these absurd bonuses even if the company they work for loses money. As for the comment about how much tax they pay, I'm sure their clever accountants make sure they pay far less than the 40% higher income tax rate.

Don't forget, in your frenzy of envy, 40% of these bonuses go into the tax man's pocket and pay for your dole and NHS.....
