Could you be earning £40k+?

Whether you're just starting out or are considering a change of career, the salary you could earn is something you should take into account.

Here are some jobs that pay over £40,000 pounds a year on average - that's over £25 an hour.

i dont think you are in the real world £30.000/40.000 for the jobs you have listed maybe in london city where it cost a fortune to live but all of us in the real world you will be lucky if you get £20.000 for most of your jobs like all figures they are done like the national average wage when its broke down we are all on something like £35.000 it just wont add up in take out all the managers/owners/public services who are on £50.000 and upwards the rest of us are on peanuts

    Anna,
Please inform which baby units are not safe - wouldn't want the risk of having to use one myself. (Presuming your statement about them is based on fact, in which case would you not be better airing your views in a more suitable arena, where action can be taken to prevent the risk to the public that you are implying is very real?)

I would like to see an appology from the person who wrote the article about midwives- ditto to everything Anna just wrote.
I have been qualified 8 years and earn £26.500- how I would love to be on £40,000!!!.
Hmmm... come to think of it, if we add up all those extra hours we stay behind at the end of a shift and demanded we be payed for all our "breaks" (which we more often than not don't get)... we probably would be earning nearer £40,000!!!
What people don't realise is the fluctuation in women attending our services- we can go from no deliveries in one day to 9 in 4 hours!!! With only 3 midwives on shift... you do the maths!!
Keep up the good work all you midwives out there!!

Re. Anna from Staffordshire....your use/spelling of the word 'there' is incorrect in both instances. You seem a very dedicated person with a keen handle on the English language. Your use of the word ‘arse’ illustrates this perfectly for you could have gone across the pond and used ‘ass’. New Zealand will certainly be gaining a tremendous asset. Good luck!
