After they were famous

Anyone can become famous by being good at a sport, but Eddie the Eagle Edwards became an 80s icon being very bad at one. Known for his thick specs, cheery grin and lack of any success whatsoever, the Olympic ski-jumper was given advertising and record deals and there's even a Steve Coogan film in the works. Edwards himself now works as a plasterer. Bless.

We have to give him the credit he deserves, He had more balls than a lot of people to even attempt it. It proves the fact it not whether you win or lose its how you play, and he played it well and people loved him for it.

Seems a shame to take the p*** out of the only person in Britain to be a good enough ski jumper to compete in the Olympics. By world standards he was pretty poor, but let's face it, by uk standards, he was the best we've EVER had. Now there's a sobering thought.
