Schoolchildren to pledge allegiance to the Queen?

Schoolchildren could be expected to pledge allegiance to the Queen and respect for the law, under new recommendations aimed at strengthening Britons’ sense of citizenship. Lord Goldsmith’s recommendations also include a new public holiday to celebrate "Britishness" along the lines of Australia Day. What do you think?

    It is old fashioned and with the current mixed race/religion society it will be very difficult to keep tabs on. I will NOT let my children adhere to that rubbish!
