Schoolchildren could be expected to pledge allegiance to the Queen and respect for the law, under new recommendations aimed at strengthening Britons’ sense of citizenship. Lord Goldsmith’s recommendations also include a new public holiday to celebrate "Britishness" along the lines of Australia Day. What do you think?

what a load of rubbish why should anybody be forced to pledge allegiance to anybody or anything specially somebody that has no respect for us "common people".
Just because we might pledge allegiance doesn't mean that yobos, chavs etc will respect Britain any more. A load of crap in my mind
why should children start pledging we never had to it should be thier choice not any body elses.
The picture says it all really. A load of bemused looking kids chanting something they do not really understand as the teacher told them to.
give me one good reason for this.
