Schoolchildren could be expected to pledge allegiance to the Queen and respect for the law, under new recommendations aimed at strengthening Britons’ sense of citizenship. Lord Goldsmith’s recommendations also include a new public holiday to celebrate "Britishness" along the lines of Australia Day. What do you think?

i will take my son out of school and home school him first. There is no way i shall condone my children pledging their allegence to parasites. Respect for the law is ok but with these 2 together - no way. They will be out first. If they decide to do this in college and my children are ok with this at the age 16 then that's their choice.
Is forcing children to pledge alleagiance to the Queen going to make them better persons? Is it going to make them more intelligent and pperform better in the classroom? Will it make them more considerate to others? Will it etc, etc.
In all cases the answer is NO!!
It would serve no useful purpose, and the Government would be far better tackling the real issue of immigration!
kids should not have to pledge allegiance to the queen,it will not help them with their homework, not help them get a job on leaving school. you can not say it is british because nowadays the word british is a swear word because of labour ruining everything british, allowing immigrants into this country without skills and no job to come here to.so labour bend over backwards to please these illegal aliens from anywhere in the EU, or from so called troublesome country's, then we are expected to be nice to them whilst they do everything they can to ruin our lives.
Well, it's better than pledging allegiance to gangs.
We should all show some allegiance to the Queen as she represents the country. Think of a lot of the countries where a Dictator rules and no-one is allowed to hold an opinion of there own. Look at the amount of people who have been thrown into jails and never heard of again because they haven't toed the party line. We could do a lot lot worse than living in a country with a King or Queen as head of state. Anyway they don't make the rules that is done in Parliament.
