Schoolchildren could be expected to pledge allegiance to the Queen and respect for the law, under new recommendations aimed at strengthening Britons’ sense of citizenship. Lord Goldsmith’s recommendations also include a new public holiday to celebrate "Britishness" along the lines of Australia Day. What do you think?

The queen probably does not expect this just some idiot winding us up . Her granchildren will let us know , let William and Harry tell you ;
My children dont and arnt allowed to swear, so why should Lucifer Brown tell me that they should.
Surely that would just under mine the morals that i have brought them up to have. Pay homage to the biggest social scroungers of this country
Of course we should pledge allegiance to a dis functional family..that takes all the benefits and then whinges on about what there entitled to etc... seems to me exactly what been british is all about
Why should kids pledge anything they should be left to make up their own mind about things once they reach adulthood...I tell my kids not to join in with anything that they don't want to at school (obiously not the proper lessons)...they are not christened and it is up to them when older to choose a religion not have me force one on them b4 they can choose..same goes for the school. I make sure they understand as many religions as possible and then they can make an imformed choise. Same goes for the queen...once they know enough about her...then they can decide whether to support her.
y should kids as young as 5 or whatever pledge anything what do they actually no about the queen nothing and when asked what does the queen do theer reply is nothing so no way should kids be taught to pledge a allegiance to her
