Should celebrity mums be shamed?

Britney Spears has been voted the world's worst celebrity mum with Kerry Katona coming in at second and Jade Goody pipping Kate Moss to third spot. Is it right that celebrities are named and shamed as bad parents because they are setting bad examples, or is parenting a matter that should be kept private?

Yes they should but it'd help if these idiots aren't given the media attention in the first place. Particular girls like Kerry Katona, Nicole Richie and Jade who have contributed nothing to the industry. They've only got where they are today because the media continues to throw money at them for doing nothing. I'd also consider sticking Jordan in there too. How a former page 3 model can suddenly be praised and top of book lists with her kids books and autobiography. I can't comment on Britney, what the girl has become is upsetting. Although I would imagine that the press attention surrounding her children's care boosted her fading poularity somewhat before going into rehab and remodelling her career.

It beggars belief why the media think these people and their stories actually intrest us. We moan about children, particularly girls, with eating disorders because all they see in magazines and on tv are slim women. Well I'd also say its the same for why our country suffers from so many teenage pregnancies. When these so called celebrities are apparently are all girls have to look to for inspiration what choice do we have?

Bad parenting shouldn't be endorsed. There has been huge backlash on Karen Matthews since Shannon was found. Everyone was shouting for her kids to go into care asap and to charge the families. Hit them where it hurts. She was obviously never fit to raise children. When is the same going to be said for celebrities?

Anyone in the public eye should take responsibility for their actions!
I for one would hate to be penalised for a 'wrong doing' whilst the celeb got off lightly!
Celebs should accept that they are Role models & should behave in such a manner! Too many celebs are copied by kids & adults alike.
