Should celebrity mums be shamed?

Britney Spears has been voted the world's worst celebrity mum with Kerry Katona coming in at second and Jade Goody pipping Kate Moss to third spot. Is it right that celebrities are named and shamed as bad parents because they are setting bad examples, or is parenting a matter that should be kept private?

I agree some of those who are better known to us all can be total idiots. All money and little in the way of brains. However, who are we to shame and tell? If the majority of us in this world had our lives put to the public, well, we would never show our face again, would we now?

only way to answer this is to see them as parents not as stars. would we get away with what some stars have? probably not. Just because someone is famous dosent give them the right to be put on a pedestal by adoring fans who will stick up for them no matter who says what. These are people at the end of the day and they have a duty as parents to behave. I will not condone any behaviour no matter what the excuse. life is s##t, but the majority of us are not in public eye, we have to deal with it and behave, most of us have probably been through a hell of a lot worse than any star mother, i see it every day, i am a teacher and some issues that young people have are a lot more than young Britney has ever been through.yet they are expected to behave still. what makes stars special. Us. we buy their stuff, it is us at the end of the day that keeps them famous. They owe it to the public not to make an ass of themselves or be bad role models for our youngsters. If they cant cope then they should retire and concentrate on being real.

They're celebrities, by definition their actions are going to be scrutinised and published in the media anyway!!!

Although I do think the above celebs do make particularly bad examples of parents, I also resent how good the fathers are being made to look. Hello? Kevin Federline being portrayed as "dad of the year"?!!! He is trash, and was in it for the money from the start, as he is now proving. Look at her mum as well, annoyed at Britney because she objects to her own mother publishing a "warts and all" book about her. I wouldn't wish that mum on my worst enemy!

I think whether or not their names are published in a pre-defined list, people will judge.

All bad parents should be treated the same and subjected to the outcomes. If we are influenced to buy what the celebs buy then we will be influence be their behaviour as well
