Britons in social housing who aren’t working or actively seeking employment should be kicked out, according to new housing minister Caroline Flint. Do you agree?

yes they jolly well should. If they are fit and able why are they allowed to sit at home on their backside whilst i work full time as a stressed out nurse to keep them alive.. its a bloody joke and sadly so many people see it as their right! What a shambles this society is.
The state pays the mortgage, please enlighten us all on how you came to that conclusion !.....this should be interesting
Parents and children begging on the streets, what an awfully nice person she must be,
If they are not actively seeking work they are not supposed to get benefits anyway so what are they living on? She is saying exactly nothing.
Typical New Labour stupidity.
It is difficult when you work hard for little or no reward. Most of my jobs before the accident were at a similar pay level. I do understand how tough it can be. There is help. Tax credits can top up your wages by quite a bit but they are only of limited help. There should be a real rethink of the tax system in Britain. Decent people often work a ridiculous number of hours for a wage that leaves them starving. Why should the poor pay a higher overall percentage of their wages in tax than the rich. It is not a system that encourages people back to work and we all know a carrot works better than a stick. Simply increasing the rates of homelessness will do nothing. People need to know they will be given jobs that pay a living wage and allow people a level of dignity. Encouraging people into poverty and misery will never work. But an MP has little idea of the real world. Their huge wages and two houses create a barrier between them and working people. one that no one has ever been able to bring down.
