5. 1980s colour schemes

Garish and gaudy, bright and brash, the 1980s left a legacy of hunter green, teal, peach, salmon, red and blue, which have no place in a 2009 home.

I think there right here. White and clinical would probly be best for bathroom. Because if its still brilliant white then its clean. Any other colour and you know you got some cleaning to do.

Apart from the obvious that any fashion advice given today will be laughable 10 years from now (so lets just laugh at them now), who really cares what colour the bathroom is ... unless you're some kind of wierdo that likes to spend more time than necessary in one.
btw - white is really too clinical looking.

Colour of bathroom suites isn't too bad and can be put up with but it's the carpet up the side of the bath I can't be doing with!

It really depends on how you decorate I have salmon downstairs toilet suite and I have white tiles and it looks really classy. I beleive in if its not broke don't fix it.

My father-in-law and we both have avocado bathroom suites and ours still looks as good as when I put it in 26 years ago.
Even our kitchen is the original MFI units that were installed 30 years ago. the only change being a new set of taps and the wood effect doors have been painted (but not quite magnolia - 'putty' I believe).
I have never been a believer in change for changes sake and certainly not because of some fashion dictate. If we ever move the new owners can do what they like, but I am not going to throw money at replacing things that still do the job perfectly well.
Incidentally, we also have net curtains, but only on the front windows; we don't want every passer-by looking into our home.
