They may keep out nosy neighbours but net curtains are a no-no in a modern home.
Yippee, I am not alone in resisting the move to make our homes un-homely, I love a pretty net or lace curtain, I love colour and wallpaper too, I hate low beds, would love more mirrors to throw light around and if they happen to be on a wardrobe so what? Also minimalist is dreadful I mean just where are you supposed to put a christmas tree in a minimalist house, or have a rumpus with your children and grandchildren, my home is warm light, friendly colourful and welcoming but not to burglars who are thwarted and nosy so called neighbours who want to mind my business. As my grand-daughter would say, comfort and colour rocks!
Designers are for people who have too much money and no imagination, who create fashions to justify their existence. The rest of us decorate and furnish as and when and with things we can afford. Net curtains stop instant appraisal of our belongings as a support for someones crack habit, your designer obviously lives on a rarified level, or a penthouse flat, that doesn't involve the real world.
Better than vertical blinds....who wants their home to look like an office!
Who gives a toss what some self-opinionated "style guru" says? Not I for sure. My house is the way that I like it so if they don't like it - tough!!
Who cares what other people think, if you like it go for it and be happy with your net curtains, mirrored doors and futons! We don't need all this decorating snobbery.
