1. Paint effects

Rag rolling, stencilling and sponge finish paint effects, made popular on shows such as Changing Rooms in the nineties, topped the list of modern bad design. Time to get the paintbrush out again…

What does it matter? As long as the person who lives in the house likes the way it is thats all that counts. I'm sick of being told how I should live. If people want to waste money on the latest gadgets and decor' then thats up to them, me I use my appliences, fixtures and fittings until they NEED replacing - call me old fashioned but a bath is a bath and as long as you can wash in it, it doesn't matter what colour it is!

No nets? What are we supposed to do, then? You can't stick venetian blinds in the washer, and I doubt that painting the glass in the windows is likely to be a turn-on either!! Please tell these know-alls to go take a hike.

    Take a break, it's a recession..........save money
Buy a bottle of wine and something nice to eat
    infinitely more cost effective.
sit, smell the flowers, not the paint
    you can't build a lot on a 2 x 1 plot
and that what we will all eventually inherit,
    the earth
    all 6 feet of it,
if not , then, just a little urn,
    nice if you're a genie
    Have a Merry Christmas
P.S. You'll have to do it again next year
    and the next
    and the next
    etc
    etc
I've been doing it for 40 odd years and it still isn't the right shade or texture
    grumpy old guy...
