To remove candle wax from carpets, rugs or fabrics; take a sheet of blotting paper and cover the area of wax. Take a warm iron and slowly rub over the blotting paper. As the wax warms and melts from the iron it is absorbed into the blotting paper and off your carpet.

To clean a washing machine and keep it smelling sweet and clear, use Soda crystals and put through the boil wash, every six months or so.
This has a better effect and is cheaper than the branded potions for this purpose.

To make Plastic swish curtains move more easily after cleaning with Astonish and washing up liquid mixed to a paste, then use some vasaline on them when dry and they will slide without hitching.

Dry shampoo works well at lifting out curry stains. Talcum powder on a fresh stain will lift out the grease but not the colour, therefore is effective on darker fabrics.
