My mother used to add borax and ammonia to hot water to clean walls and paint down before decorating. Gets all the dirt of easily.
Great for general cleaning too. There's no lasting smells, only clean and fresh.
Whits vinegar mixed with water is excellent for ridding the car or house of pet accidents (urine or otherwis). I used to use about a half cup of vinegar to a couple of pints of water. You need it so you can smell the vinegar. I used this when I had my dog as a puppy, and my older dog. It was really good. once you have made it up and if you have any left, then keep it handy for the next accident, or just clean the whole area with it.
