we are attempting to strip our lounge and dining room walls and just hopefully paint them as long as walls underneath paper are in good condition
me and my husband have only decorated one small room but never stripped the walls please can anyone give us any tips on the easist way to strip the walls without the scrapeing damaging the walls and what is the best stuff to use to remove wallpaper
sorry this is a bit basic but to us its a daunting task espcially with a young child so any advice would be gratefully received
i would advise people to do DIY themselves. We had a bathroom fitted 2 years ago by a well known DIY store called B & ?. It was a crap job. They took over a week to fit a small bathroom, left us without a toilet and bath for 3 days. Bearing in mind we have 2 young children. The tiling was unlevel and messy. The tiling on the floor was crap. The toilet was not fitted properly. this never ends. B & * are crap
Michelle from South East london ,if your wlls are that bad find a decent plasterer and ask him how much to polybond and skim (polybond is a pva universal glue used for adhesion)if its just certain parts you want to make good ya self, aslong as its only small areas try applying plaster finish to the areas let it sit til near dry about 1 hour but that will depend on the back ground etc. then when nearly dry rub with a damp sponge this will remove the excess plaster leaving it in the places where you intended it to be and will be smooth for painting :)
to paul from birmingham, 1st remove your door, then there is no exact science but youd be best trying to prise the bottom of the door frame away from the wall on once the bottom has come loose fully remove, then knock the head down then there shouldnt be much holding the other side of the door frame on and can be easily removed :)
