I tried to stick poly tiled to the bathroom ceiling with super glue, it dissolved the poly and all the tiles fell to the floor
Have been successfully hanging wallpaper for 40 years but the new 'peelable' paper had me stumped. Every time I put it up, it wrinkled, blistered, got lumps and cracks in it - I took it down twice before I read the VERY small print which said to apply paste, then leave for 5 minutes before hanging. Perfect!
When we bought a new house a few years ago the utility room had no tiling above the sink unit. No problem I thought. We chose the tiles and I set about fixing them . Damned things kept falling off - while I was putting one in place another would fall away. I managed to rig up wood to wedge them until they dried. Next day I realised why - I'd bought a tub of grouting instead of tile adhesive!! Tiles were still in place 5 years later when we sold it!!
Built some walls and put in some steps in my garden about 7yrs ago, took me ages shifting soil around, from one place to another.Looked the 'dogs' when finished, right proud, only to find now after a few frosts the faces of the bricks are falling off, didn't know about types of house bricks, so thanks to the builders merchants whom I brought them from why did they not ask what I was going to build and where, would not have brought the decorative faced ones otherwise. Also why had Tommy Walsh'es programme not been televised earlier when he spoke about differant types of bricks. Would have saved me the task of having to do it all again plus more rubble to get shot of.Won't mention the cost just another brick in the wall!!!
