noise.....can also be from a football being kicked at your fence by next doors un-supervised bratt, unless it misses the fence and hits your car on your driveway.......the subject of another discussion forum is smacking kids for bad behaviour......I rest my case

I suffered from an Iggy Pop lookalike living in the flat below who played very loud music in the evening till about 4am or 5am. Then started again about 6.30am. I got ignored, so because I was only renting I was happy to just move out. Trouble is this has a lasting effect. This was 3 yrs ago but I still huff and puff at the slightest noise made by any neighbours. I now own my own house, semi detached, and our living rooms share the same wall. Because the house is relatively new, the wall is about as soundproof as paper. Why do the sodding builders do that?? They're a nice family but they have children, a big tv and a loud stereo. They're not noisy, just the same as when I was a kid, but their voices, and tv come straight through to my living room. I didn't want to mention anything because I don't want to be a complaining neighbour, so I sound-proofed the wall. Really simple, and it works. I just used the yellow fibre-glass material used for loft insulation, and layed it up about 3-4 inches thick aginst the wall, between wooden beams. Then just screwed plasterboard up and re-decorated. I've sacrifced 4 inches, but it does make a lot of difference.

I had a neighbour who no mater what time of day or night even 2.30am would blast out his music and it was that jungle stuff. I am not adverse to the odd party with load music but i always let the neigbours know ther was going to be a party and loud music. Tis guy without fail every night would blast out his music. I had been round and knocked on hid door a number of times and got a load of abuse and then the music would go up. I have called the police nothing happened there. one day i went up and said would you mind turning your music down please i got the same abuse and the door slmmed in my face. That brought out my dark side my fury rose i grabbed a crowbar from my flat went back kicked the door open pused him and his mates out of the way and with one swipe demolished the stero and kicked in the speakers i then turned to everyone ther and said "WHOS NEXT" no one moved i walked over to the tennent and said now f***ing try and blast the music. Goodnight. I now i shouldn't have lost my temper but i couldn't take it anymore. I am sure people who have the same thing will know what it feels like. I really feel for those of you going through this at the moment. The neighboyr was finaly evicted for noise nusance.
