Hi, Roger. My 2 eldest kids share a room and are both scared of the dark, so I leave their telly on at night on a low volume, which gives a bit of light. I don't like the dark myself, so I do the same in my room! also, your friend could leave the landing light on and have the bedroom door slightly open.

Thanks Maddie for night light idea will suggest it.
Sorry to read on other board about your daughters eating problems. Will give it some thought and if I can think of anything to help will get back to you,
one point just thought off is she playing up on the food issue to get attention, You say she is missing her dad is he away because of work or is he away for other reasons?

has your friend tried night lights? they are a little light that plugs in and they give of a light glow, my 5 year old son doesn't need his anymore, but he still has them on!
also he should try listening to music either on the radio/cd or an a mp3 player, the music will take his attentions away fro the dark.
another thing tell him not to think about it, it makes it worse.
    hope these help.
    Maddie

    To Maddie from home
I hope your daughter contiues to eat and glad to hear she is offering to wash up. She probably feels "grown up" helping you. Keep in touch I have to go now and have something to eat myself. Take care love Roger.
