Babies should be moved into a cot as soon as they start to roll over, because if they do that in a moses basket there is a risk of it tipping up. I put all of my children into a cot at 4 months. I think 6 months is far too late, my youngest daughter was crawling at 6 months, as many babies are, moses baskets are only for newborns and very small babies who cannot roll over.

Babies should sleep in a moses basket until about 5-6 months, then go into a cot. My middle daughter went into a toddler bed at 18 months, with a side guard to stop her falling out. I agree that a 3 month old baby should not be left in a baby seat in front of the telly, but sometimes this is unavoidable for short periods of time when you have a toddler to look after as well. My youngest is 3 months and I have a nearly 2 year old and an 8 year old, so I have to spread myself thinly! Having a bottle propped up in the baby's mouth can be dangerous, though, as she may choke. I dont have that problem as I breastfeed.

I PUT MY BABY IN HER OWN COT WHEN SHE GREW OUT OF HER MOSES BASKET.I ALWAYS HAD THE COT IN MY BEDROOM NEXT TO THE BED.MY YOUNGEST DAUGHTER WILL BE 2 IN A COUPLE OF MonTHS SHE WILL STILL BE IN HER COT THEN.AS IT IS STILL BIG ENOUGH FOR HER TO SLEEP IN AND IV NOT GOT TO WORRY ABOUT HER FALLING OUT OF A BED.

I am a qualified HV and I can tell you for a fact that babies are incapable of controling thier bladders before the age of 18 months so to put a 7 month old on a potty is a complete waste of time. Start potty training at 18 months and you will achieve the desired result alot quicker as this is when they are phissically ready and able.
