   A 'Designer Baby' is a genetically engineered baby. i.e. one that is created to have minimum disease traits, and/or possibly going as far as creating an above average child. There is more, but those are the basics.
   Tommy, learn to spell before you criticize in such a blanketed manner.I agree with Victoria, but i disagree with you somewhat.
   Most people now are sheep, not all. There are plenty of single minded, open minded, intelligent individuals, it's just that we are outnumbered by the moronic class. These people, being in the majority, unfortunately rule the country. The way forward is education. I don't mean A-levels and Degrees, I mean teaching people what is REALLY going on, and getting rid of stupid mass biased opinions.
   As for designer babies being ok. Yes, they are. once you get past the "Yuk factor" ( the initial gross reaction of 'tampering with nature' - as it is bad at all ) and get over the 'Playing God' factor (as he doesn't exist, and that is what we are here for), then it becomes clear that we have a responsibility to enhance our evolutionary steps, if only to more quickly eradicate certain debilitating diseases from our genepool. Though ultimately, if we are going to create children then why not create the best children we possibly can?

   what exactly is a designer baby? if it means having a baby with the intentions of bringing it up in a way different than you'd like to, maybe so it will fit into society better, then i guess it is wrong as you will basically just be creating another sheep like all the kids today.

   Far too many kids these days aspire to being a gangster as a job option, and only one in any ten thousand will actually be successful in that field, the rest are just gaol fodder, and as more and more prisons become privately owned, they will have to be kept full to capacity for the shareholders.

   Victoria, i couldnt agree more, since the 60's we've bred a nation of sheep, all look alike all act alike, not one single minded individual among them. Exam standreds are lowered so as cretins can get qualifications to do jobs that they are totally clueless about, is it any wonder we're in such dire straights, even shop assistants and bank clerks can add or subtract without using some form of calculator.
