Is maternity care good enough in the UK?

Is maternity care good enough in the UK?

The Healthcare Commission has said a fifth of NHS Trusts are failing to deliver an acceptable level of care. The report also found ultrasound scans are not being properly checked for abnormalities in unborn babies. Are you concerned by this? Have you had a bad experience on the NHS?

josh would have been 7 days old at 9.30 pm
unfortunatley he died yesterday 14 july 2008 at 9.20 am
joshes fate was sealed the minute his mum
    was admitted
Nearly full term carrying a perfect baby no problems
in 2008 this shouldnt have happened
she was admitted Tuesday 8th july at 1.30 am
no monitors very little sympathy when pointing
out what she thought was abnormal pain
    no clinical examination
6.30 moved onto a ward put on a monitor
almost immediatley was sent for an emergency cesserian
    because of babys distress
whoever started the cesserian wasnt able to cope with
a complication and the person called in had to drive in taking
10 to 15 min to arrive
Baby Josh suffered Asphxyia during this process the severe
trama suffered and possible chemical imbalance threw his organs kidneys
into shock and possible brain damage
despite being on the danger list he clung to life untill against all expectations he was
taken off the danger list on Sunday
Monday 9.20 am little josh passed away in his mothers arms having been advised by telephone about 8.15 that his heart rate was dropping

Sometimes its so sad to hear comments about unacceptable levels of care. People seem to forget that midwives are on the reeiving end of this, they are at breaking point!!!!
