It depends on what your goal or ambition is in life.

If you wanna avoid all the local schools and all the hocus pocus that goes on and keep a closer eye on your own children then homeschooling is perfectly acceptable.

The law only says children have to be educated doesn't say how state schools is one option.

At the end of the day the is simply who pays for it.

    The tax payer.

Parent who homeschool pay for it themselves.

The point is that larger groups can afford more materials however you can learn to read for free, you can do math as hobby, you can do anything you want to but at the end of the day you need to earn money somehow.

The issues are really who in charge of education and what purpose do they have and what do they do to acheive their goals?

Beyond that how do they earn money?

As long as people make a legitimate income and obey the law, they can do what they want!

Im sure a lot of children educated at home would do very well, but is it not a worry that the parents may not be sufficiently highly educated themselves?

Home Education? Fine, if its done at all. Too often it has been my experience that a largge number of "home educated children" are actually not recieving any kind of education at all. Many local authorities are just not checking that any education is being done. one case the parent was checked once a year and given the date the inspector was due to call. It's a fact, My job? EWO
