It's becoming more and more common for children to have body piercings - from ears to bellybuttons.
Have you let your child have any part of their body pierced? How young is too young for children to have "body art"?

how young is too young?

Too young is when they aren't old enough to say they don't want it done or to put up with the pain. Piercing babies is cruelty. I got my ears done first time at the age of 10 with a rod. It hurt like hell. I've seen babies get their ears done and the poor little mites scream in agony! I think an age barrier should be put on it. When I got mine done, I had to sign a permission form. I don't see a year old baby signing a permission form. Do you?
to be honest with you i dont think there should be any age, im 15 i got my belly done my nose done ears done and my trangus.
Its the childs choice if they want to put up with the pain, and cleaning it everyday and looking after it so it dont go makey then yeah. :)
It's ridiculous to make a kid wait until there 16, but it should never be a parent's choice to have a kid's ears pierced, it shud b the kid's. i had mine done on my 13th bday, about 7 months ago. i'd never been bothered be4 then, but all my m8s had them done about 7 or 8. no kid shud have them done b4 6 or 7 bcoz they dont no that its gonna hurt. it wud hurt a small kid, coz it hurt me at 13 (not that much, but hey.)
i think 12 or 13 shud b the restriction for body piercings. (i really want my nose done!)
i was 6 when i had my ears done for my birthday and im 24 now.
i can remember quite clearly wanting them done and looked after them myself , i believe this is old enough for ears but not before. my daughter is now 3 and is talking about earring .... she has no chance until she is about 6 too...
as for other piercings i do agree the age limit should be raised
