It's becoming more and more common for children to have body piercings - from ears to bellybuttons.
Have you let your child have any part of their body pierced? How young is too young for children to have "body art"?

I let my daughter have her ears pierced at 6. SHE asked ME if she could have it done. She said it only stung for a second & we've had no problems with the piercings since. It's down to personal choice, as she was only 6 i talked to her about it & when i knew she understood what it entailed i gave my permission. As her parent that is my right. If anyone doesn't agree with how i'm bringing up my child that is their problem, not mine- i really don't care what anyone else thinks.
SRH...
Why on earth do piercings harm anyone!? They are a temporary body modification and it happens all over the world in many cultures - some going as far as stretching ear lobes as a sign of power.
I think piercings (and tattoos) are a personal choice and people should not be discriminated against (i.e. in workplaces) for how they look and can have as many piercings/ tattoos as they like.
It's only the person who can regret it in the long run, so obviously there needs to be ages limits on these sort of things.
S.R.H from Northwest, crossing the road endangers health, travelling in a car etc, endangers health, going for a night out endangers health, but we all do most of these things! Lighten up for goodness sake!
I'd say any CHILD below the age of 95 is stupid to get this done, and I'd caution those over 95 to think again as it does endanger health.
I think its everyones own choice in what they want to do. i think that its good how it is, under sixteens with parental permission.
