I was ill and hospitalised many times during my pregnancy and could only eat cornflakes with cold milk. No cravings! Needless to say I've not ate cornflakes since - that was nearly 16 years ago!!
Tuna and banana sandwichs are what I craved for throughout my pregnancy. The thought of it now makes me feel sick !!!!

It is a widely accepted medical fact that there are no physiological explanations for the presence of cravings during pregnancy. I beileve that these are largely in the imagination of the women concerned and are often used as an excuse for not following a healthy diet during pregnancy. It is interesting to note that in many cases the women in question often claim to have cravings for unhealthy foods which further supports the theory that cravings are no more than a figment of the imagination. In reality, if a pregnant woman were to experience cravings during her pregnancy it would infact be most likely that she would crave things such as fruit and vegetables etc which have a high vitamin content. Pregnant women would be well advised to put the subject of cravings out of their minds altogether and focus instead on following a healthy balanced diet which is, after all, the sensible thing to do.
with my first i craved cold chicken and cold brussel sprouts sandwiches and with my second my husband craved pickled eggs
