1. Fallout 3 (360/PS3/PC)

Part role-playing game, part first person shooter, all awesome. Wandering an irradiated landscape in a post-nuclear apocalypse shouldn’t be fun but there’s more depth, action and cynical humour here than a dozen similar games. There’s so much to see and do it should last you to next year.
