    Link from the Legend of Zelda series is the best icon ever. Solid Snake from the Metal Gear series is a close second.
    The best female icon is Samus Aran followed by Lara Croft.

    name a character that has lasted and been in as many games as mario. he isnt my personal game icon but he is the best out there.
    i still see cloud and sephiroth as the top dogs though.
