What's the best stealth game?

The Metal Gear game series made stealth game play legendary, and Metal Gear Solid 4 for the PS3 should be epic.

But are you a fan of stealth games? Is Metal Gear the best, or do you have another favourite?

Many people have already said it too but Splinter Cell is for me the most involving stealth game as to complete your missions stealth is a must, not so much MGS because you have a choice, you can either kill all the guards and run around like a mad man or you can choose the Sam Fisher option and blend in with your OctoCamo, but Splinter Cell has for me lost its stealthy touch since Double Agent and Essentials, and i don't see it coming back in Splinter Cell Conviction...
