pc's require to much upgrading to run new games, you could spend thousands of pounds on a top spec pc only to have it become half as powerfull as the next year high spec model of gaming pc which would then require another 3-400 quid upgrade to run the newest games. As you,ve guessed by my name i have a console, which gives you FREE updates through xbox live to eliminate gliches and bugs in new games, it never needs a hardware update (unless your after more memory ie; 20 gig hd - 120 gig hd, which i hav'nt needed yet) and you also know that every game you buy, new or old, will run at full spec on your console.

The thing about PC's is that the specs are just better. If you get a decent cooling system in your PC you can overclock the system. Sure staying on the cutting edge will be expensive but my 2 8800 gt graphics cards pump out amazing picture.

PC games are, in most cases, an undeniably richer experience than their console cousins. However having just spent 300 quid upgrading my pc, on top of about 500 quid 3 years ago, and the 500 quid it originally cost me to build around 2 years before that, the richer experience is offset by some serious financial outlay, and thats before i even bought a game. if you have plenty of disposable income, then you'll probably favour the pc for the all round features as well as games playing ability, but I find it more than a bit annoying that as technology advances so quickly, by the time you have installed a new part its either been superceded, or made obsolete.
i upgraded 4 years ago to play far cry in high detail at a high resolution, but my xbox 360 cost less than the graphics card i've just had to buy to play crysis at anything approaching the detail and framerate of the best 360 shooters.
conclusion, i think i prefer console games, despite loving the all round capabilities of my pc.
