Are you concerned about our future? Or has the environmental apocalyse been wildly exaggerated? Do you think it's down to the government to limit our damage to the world or should the individual be responsible? Are you doing your bit or don't you really care?
There are far toomany people who don't give a damn whether this planet is dying or not.
I was walking to my sister's house the other wek and three cars were in a small cue up waiting for the lights to change. I was disgusted to see that the people in the cars had thrown out their empty cigerette packets onto the road. So much for the 'sin/bin' campaign. If people don't give a damn about whether they get caught or not, what hope do we have with anything else?

You are quite correct about the history of the earth, it's the reasearch about the past and it's effects on climate that are the basis for todays climate science. In many of the past periods you speak about life on earth would have been nigh on impossible for the human race at that time, now we have vastly increased population, a large amout of deforestaion and industrial/domestic Co2 that was not part of the natral world in the past.
The planet has evolved, over the last five billion years, from a raging, poisonous fireball to what we have today. It has survived meteorite strikes by the thousand, massive volcanoe eruptions, changes of magnetic polatity and infinite variations of temperature. All this without the puny assistance of mankind. OF COURSE THE BLOODY PLANET CAN SURVIVE.
It will, however, cease to survive when the sun goes supernova - in a few billion years from now. Get on with your lives and find something useful to worry about!!

If you are refering to me, I live in a highly energy effiecient timber framed house I built myself, it's much cheaper to heat than a convetional home, it's got low energy ligting and everthing is A rated or better. I am self employed and not getting conned by anyone, I leave that sort of thing to people like you. I enjoy my work and the people I meet trough it and there is little I find more satisfing than clean energy. I recycle/compost so much that my wheelie bin could go for 6 weeks with out collection. I have never been a money person, I prefer to make/mend what i need rather than working in rat race to buy the trinkets that many seem to live for.
dont go thinking my home is some hippy afare it,s very modern and compleately computer controlled by a system I desinged myself, it's most important function is balace comfort over cost in the heating sytem that includes pasive solar heating, so I can aford my enery bills. I spent the 80's living in Italy so I have had my time abroad, whilst I enjoyed it living abroad is not all it's cracked up to be and if you are are only doing it to save money good luck you will need it.
You obviousy don't have a family to support, or you could not afford to reduce your salary by 75%.Anyway, you must be getting conned by your employer, because I had a nice little earner importing solar panels and selling them for 3 times my cost.I could have installed them and made more still, but why should I when there are people like you willing to work for peanuts, and I did not even have to touch them.I don't do it any more because I made enough to retire, and shortly I will be going to live in a country where I can afford to pay my energy bills.
