Are we heading towards a global energy crisis?

At current consumption levels petrol will run out by 2039 and if the industrialisation of China and India continues at the current rate it will run out even faster. Are we heading to a global energy crisis?

I completely dissagree with the previous comment. Where are the "other forms of power". Most power generation across the world is derived from fossil fuels which are a finite resource. Even the so called "Bio fuels" have problems as their production itself uses energy and the land that they are grown on is not then available to grow food. People have to be aware that there is no "magic pill" which will solve the worlds upcoming energy crisis. The only thing that we can do is to reduce worldwide our energy consumption.

I think talk of a fuel crisis is stupid.
All that will happen is that fuel will become relatively more expensive and people willl gradually switch to other forms of power.
