Talks in Bali between countries from all over the world have been struggling to agree on a plan to cut emissions, with the US reportedly unhappy signing up to strict targets. Do you think the summit will achieve anything positive? Does the attitude of the US make you angry? Or are the talks a pointless exercise in the fight against global warming?
TinyTim from Luton says: 'this has to be seen for what it is - ANOTHER SOCIAL ConTROL SCAM!'
It's a good one as well, so good in fact that the country most committed to social control, China, won't sign up to it.

'Soon enough, some rabid fan will come on here and tell us all to live in a mud hut, covered in wheat and barley wearing only natural fibres and eating what the pigs have left over coz if we don't the world will end tomorrow.
Well, you know what, that's horsesh#t that is. '
I agree mate. Total horsesh#t. How very honest of you to critique your own work.

I have and I take your point. 99% of scientists think global warming is man made, the UN science committee agree that we are near the 'tipping point' where disastrous consequences can't be avoided. You, however, have spotted that the whole thing is a plot to get Al Gore a Nobel Prize for a movie ... maybe you mean an oscar but, hey, why quibble about one error in such a well reasoned argument.
the bali have helped to make things worse, thousands of people flying to bali!.
To Tiny Tim from Luton.
The geological records trapped in the ice of the North and South poles give us the information that you seem to have missed. These records give us precise data going back many thousands of years and clearly show that there has been a significant increase in the past 300 years of air pollutants etc that are central to global warming. As volcanic activity is actually less in that 300 year period it is fairly safe to assume that natural cause for the excessive global warming can be ruled out.
I am sorry that you think I am arrogant and naïve; a difficult combination to achieve, but my intention was to point out that Weatherman had perhaps over simplified the situation and that man was indeed the culprit and unless he acted soon future generations will curse us for not acting.
However I am concerned that you should think that the claim regarding Global warming is some sort of exercise in social control. That sort of claim is like saying World War one and Two were an attempt by governments at population control. Is it you or I that is truly naïve?.
Here we go -

To Weatherman
You are absolutely right about earth’s climate being subject to constant change. However what you seem to have conveniently missed is that the rates of change has increased at an unprecedented rate over the past 300 years; and most significantly in the past 80 -90 years, than at any other time in its history.
Humans are to blame and it must be down to us to do what is right, unfortunately as the major polluters think about their bank balance first the chances are their children and their children’s children will look back on this generation and curse them.
1.How do we know the rates have changed in the last 300 years? wouldn't be because the measurements only started then could it?
2.How do we know humans are to blame? What about ordinary climactic change?
Your arrogance is amazing, topped only by your naievity. Of course having a bank balance helps but the arguments are risible. They maybe scientific but their politicisation merely creates more problems. Who gains when Al Gore wins the Nobel Peace Prize for a poorly articluated 60 minute movie?? Think about it!
